Well I can hardly believe it’s the 5th Feb already! The gloom of January has passed and I feel as though we’re drifting into lightness, brightness and possibility. I’ve had the most ridiculous month but honestly, my experience on this cleansing, invigorating and empowering plan has been a revelation.
I’ve never committed to any sort of eating programme before, believing in my knowledge and experience to make healthy choices. However, I knew I was in a bit of a rut; I eat very late 3 times a week as I don’t get home from work until 9 or 10pm and as a family we’d become quite stale in our choices, even though they were healthy. Personally I found the greatest challenges to be eliminating pasta, bread and green tea (which is allowed but I wanted to test myself). I missed apples and bananas. I felt slightly bound to the kitchen. Grrr.
But once I began to batch cook on Sunday, prepare a quick weekly plan and get everyone at home on board, I was flying. My sleep improved (and if you know me well you’ll know that I’m a terrible sleeper so that was amazing), I woke earlier and felt more energetic and vital, my skin glowed and I had that lovely empowered feeling of being ON FIRE! I felt hormonally balanced and in flow and I didn’t have any cravings other than missing oaty snacks. My ankle injury had pretty much healed so I returned to running, increased my HIIT and felt leaner, lighter and more lovely than I had in a long time. I was quite bewildered by my willpower and discipline as I refused bread, wine and chocolate without a thought.
As someone active I need more carbs and I’ll be reintroducing and tinkering with a few elements but overall I’m so grateful for the learning experience, the kick to my ego to experiment and adapt and the opportunity to keep passing it forward, sharing with my community and elevating us all to our highest, healthiest, happiest potential. These are the books I used the most, although I also used recipes from the plan booklet and what a joy it was to experiment.
I can wholeheartedly endorse the programme and will continue to adopt many of the changes. It’s essential (for me) to operate with absolute integrity and to be able to fully champion the programme clearly I had to experience it utterly and completely and I’m so glad I did.
