Pilates and Yoga

Power yoga is a vinyasa based flow class, designed to build strength and increase flexibility through a sequence of postures.  But it’s not just about the physical benefits; yoga is so much more, increasing your overall sense of wellbeing, reducing your stress levels, teaching you new breathing techniques,  helping you draw parallels with what comes up on your mat and your everyday existence.  It has the potential to change your life and has been a lifeline for many over the previous months.

Restorative yoga is a completely supported class with only a handful of postures designed to assist you in dropping into a deep, luscious rest to balance your nervous system.  Minimal instruction, some breath awareness and long relaxation makes this class the perfect way to end your week.

Modern Pilates is based on the original works of Joseph Pilates who designed a series of exercises that use both mental and physical techniques to condition the body.  My classes combine the original techniques with recent research and the 21st century knowledge we have acquired in this fast moving industry.  It offers the following benefits:

  • strengthens core muscles
  • increases joint stability and mobility
  • improves posture
  • relieves stress and tension
  • helps with recovery and rehabilitation

My classes are all online – it’s an incredible way to practice that lets you stay connected to your community from the comfort of your home.

All you need is your laptop or tablet, an internet connection, your mat and blocks or a substitute like a big hardback book. It’s through Zoom which is a free software solution.

Staying active and mobile will keep your immune system strong and also help you relieve stress, soothe and calm the nervous system

Classes run in term time and are suitable for all abilities with lots of modifications and also progressions for those with more experience.

All classes are booked in advance via an online booking system: https://app.gymcatch.com/provider/2379
